A Day In The Life

My average day in Comrat consists of me teaching classes and playing SCRABBLE. So here are a few pictures showing just that.

A few of my Turkish students in my classroom. I told Said, in the middle, that an umbrella open indoors gets you 7 years of bad luck. He said that maybe things would get better then.

My third-year Turkish students.

And here's me, smiling, after putting down "DAWN" for 30 points. I won all four games today, but I have to stay on my toes because my site mates are getting awefully good. Maybe tomorrow, I won't be so lucky.

Winter--which was.

Some Ice coming off a tower back in February

Your average well, spilling over with water...er, ice.

My town in winter.

A wider shot of the "icicle."
We were all hearing Sting and the Police around it.

Fun Pictures

Here's one of me eating sushi in a cafe in Austria.

I'm standing in front of our town's tank. The Russian, transliterated as "Slava Osvobodeeteayamee," means "Glory to the Liberators." This tank was one of the ones the Russians used to take Moldova from Romania.

Around The Town

About a mile from the city: look at those clouds!

The dreaded cotton thistle. I fell on a pile of these. Ouch!

Four miles out. My house is somewhere in the blueness.
